SENIOR ENVIRONMENT ARTIST – SCOTLAND – COMPETITIVE SALARY!!
Role Overview:A fantastic studio based in Scotland requires a Senior Environment Artist to join its growing team!
Responsibilities
•All aspects of environment creation and implementation: modelling, UV unwrapping, texturing, materials/shaders, collision creation and in engine implementation
•Create art assets within prescribed budgets and to the established visual style and quality bar
•Work with a variety of environment creation tools from middleware to a proprietary building editor
•Contribute significantly in all art team creative, technical and planning discussions
•Work in partnership with Design Team to create stunning environments that enhance gameplay
•Liaise closely with Engineering team to ensure assets are accurate, performant and meet all established functional standards
•Proactively seek feedback from Art Director and then execute accurately on that feedback
Skills/Experience Required
•2+ years of College/University educational experience in digital art creation (2D and 3D)
•5+ years’ experience as a 3D environment artist in the games industry
•Worked on at least 1 Triple A game title
•Excellent 3D art skills in environment and hard surface modelling.
•Expert level in industry standard art packages: 3DS Max (preferred), Maya, ZBrush, Photoshop
•Excellent texture authoring skills
•Excellent knowledge of cutting edge shader techniques
•A strong technical background and the ability to grasp new programs and systems quickly
•A thirst for learning new software and industry standard techniques
•Highly self-motivated and focussed. Capable of working without the need for constant supervision
•Strong communication skills, both within the art team/company and with external partners
Skills/Experience Preferred
•Expertise with Unreal Engine 4 (shader and Blueprint creation considered a huge bonus)
•Expertise with Substance Designer/Painter
•Strong 2D art skills
