Role Overview:
This studio has been responsible for producing some of the best AAA’s on the planet and they are looking for new staff to join their talents team.

A truly international team with talent from across the globe, you will be part of some exciting projects and as Art Outsourcing Manager you will be responsible for developing and managing the studio’s outsourcing communicating with both external vendors and internal team members to ensure the studio sees consistently high standards and timely results from outsourced work.

Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain frequent contact with flexible resources and vendors in order to foster a good working relationship.
• Manage workflow ensuring all projects are primarily resourced through studio staff.
• Work with the production teams to identify and put in place processes to mitigate potential issues with resource spikes and skills shortages.
• Simultaneously manage the outsource pipelines and resourcing across multiple projects and cross console developments.
• Working with management to take a pro-active approach towards to the development of the India studio in order to help it to continuously improve quality and delivery.
• Be available to travel, occasionally at short notice.
• Liaise with the art leads on a day to day basis to ensure a good understanding of the projects art style and technical challenges.
• Research, identify, and evaluate external art studios, outsourcing vendors and freelancers/contractors.
• Ensure that you have the facilities and vendors in place to be able to react at short notice for urgent project needs.
• Work with the finance department to ensure timely invoicing and payment for suppliers.
• Develop new relationships between our company and outsource vendors from around the world, and identify each outsource vendors strengths, weaknesses, and areas of expertise.
• Create and maintain a studio-wide database of outsourcing vendor contacts and sample materials. Update those contacts and samples as information changes and the outsource company capabilities expand.
• Work with the project Leads to create appropriate pilot tests for the outsourcing vendors. Assemble reference materials and specifications for those tests. Help review and evaluate the test results.
• With the Art Director, compare and negotiate contract pricing between different vendors, help facilitate project contract signing, help plan contract milestone deliveries, and review deliveries for invoice payments to the outsourcing providers.
• Provide direct feedback, and collate feedback from other team members, as to the artistic quality of outsource deliverables, in order to get the best possible quality of asset.
• Work with various internal project leads to determine each team’s outsourcing needs.
• Review completed outsources deliverables for accuracy and thoroughness.
• Receive, organize, and manage outsource file deliveries, making sure they are easily accessible for the internal art staff.
• Handle any disputes with outsource firms, helping to maintain positive working relationships.
• Provide Directors and Management with weekly summaries of outsource deliverables completed and the ongoing status of each outsource project.
• Contribute to the internal artist recruitment effort. This includes reviewing demo reels and resumes for quality, conducting phone interviews, and working with the company Art Director, Recruiter as well as internal leads to create appropriate interview panels.

Skills and Qualifications:
• MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, Power Point, etc.)
• 2D/3D software (Maya, Max, Photoshop etc)
• Critical and analytical thinker
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Experience of working within an art pipeline
• Outsourcing experience
