Dynamic Director of Human Resources to lead Quality in the Workplace objectives. This role is a member of the studio leadership team, reporting jointly to the General Manager and to the VP of HR for Games.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for the overall stewardship of culture, setting clear direction and priorities for the studio within the HR realm in partnership with the wider Human Resources organization.
• Stewardship of all HR activities and projects for the studios, including but not limited to: workforce planning & analysis, talent acquisition, relocation, work visas, orientation, performance management, employee relations, benefits, compensation and training & development.
• Consults with multiple business stakeholders to proactively evolve and adapt HR programs and practices to successfully navigate and compete within a dynamic industry.
• Leading and developing an award winning and high performance Human Resources team.
• Ensuring that it’s the best place for team-oriented talent.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Successful completion of a related degree program for a recognized post secondary institute.
• Completion of course work in HR training, management, strategic planning, finance, marketing, communications, conflict resolution and coaching is preferred.
• A minimum of 7+ years of progressively complex human resources generalist experience in a medium to large-sized organization (multi-location, multinational – Canada & US preferred) combined with a minimum of 4+ years of management experience leading direct reports and assessing/strategically planning human resource services is required.
• Experience working in an entrepreneurial environment highly desirable.
• Relevant HR experience in a software development, entertainment or comparable creative, high technology environment is preferred.
• Proven track record of successful HR development as a valued business partner in a creative organization
• Strong facilitation skills through all modes of communication (written and verbal).
• Strong interpersonal skills that will support the effectiveness of conflict resolution (seek to understand, and then be understood), as well as the ability to successfully partner with a variety of multidisciplinary senior management
• Analytical ability, including the capability to generate meaningful quantitative and qualitative analysis accompanied by insightful interpretation that can be applied in strategic or tactical decision making.
• Teamwork - demonstrated ability to work in and lead teams of individuals from a variety of functional areas.
• Communication skills - outstanding communicator, both written and verbal, including the ability to influence peer and executive management.
• Quality of work – able to complete complex tasks consistently, both for quality and quantity
• Flexibility – able to successfully facilitate and implement HR processes in a highly creative environment
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally
